Formerly home to the print shop Alphagraphics, the free-standing building on the northwest corner of Scotts- dale Road and Third Avenue in the heart of Old Town, has undergone a top-to-bottom renovation. The existing structure has 4 bearing walls with a concrete tee roof structure allowing glass on 4 corners of the building. The layout was to maintain the glass on three of the corners giving the private dining, dining and bar ample day- light and visibility. The glass windows pocket on the northeast corner to hide behind the existing bearing walls connecting the bar area to the exterior. With the name of the restaurant we wanted to expose the bones of the structure, use meat hooks as part of the lighting design and bring in warm tones and woods for the bourbon.
