BOURBON & BONES
A Boutique steakhouse and Bar.
The second location of Bourbon & Bones designed by C|K studio once again follows familiar elements from the first location.
The remodel was a complete strip-down of an existing restaurant to bring in the B&B essence, design elements, and vibe to life.
Everything was demolished, spaced planned, and rebuilt for this larger location.
Inspiration was derived from butcher shops with their dark and moody ambiance, as well as the warm tones of a glass of bourbon; this is reflected on the materials and finishes in a tailored upscale way.
The host stand welcomes patrons in, it features a large collection of vintage Bourbon barrels brought in from Heaven Hill, Kentucky. The massive bar grounds the space and it is the main focal point displaying several of the design elements; "meat hook" like pendants over the leather finish quartzite countertop, leather front paneling, and oversized leather barstools dress this area. Accents of blackened steel, rustic wood plank flooring, and specialty recycled leather floor tiles separate the bar and dining areas. 3D ceiling tiles, wall tiles, and wallcoverings give texture and dimension to the space. Large booths and banquettes surround the dining areas in leather and soft velvet upholstery. We call these "dark corners for fancy cocktails".
An existing fireplace was removed from the private dining area and in its place, a massive wine cellar that holds 1,820 bottles separates the bar dining from the PDR without taking away from the bar action.
The bar dining is now connected to the patio in a more functional way. The existing wall glazing was removed and in its place, a partial height wall with an aluminum multi-slide window was added. This gives the patio diners a full view of the bar action. Custom patio railing and oversized decorative heaters create a rhythm for the space. Large sofas and fire tables are now the "see and be seen" VIP spot. Totally transforming this underutilized space.
